Chapter :
Once upon a time in Sri Lanka, there was a clever jester named Andare who loved playing tricks on people. One day, the Queen asked Andare to bring his wife to the palace because she wanted to meet her. Andare agreed but looked sad. The Queen asked why he was upset, and Andare replied, 'My wife can't hear very well.'
The Queen felt sorry for Andare and said, 'It's okay, Andare. Bring her, and I'll speak loudly so she can hear me.'
Andare thanked the Queen and went home to tell his wife the news. His wife was very excited and honored to meet the Queen. However, Andare warned her, 'The Queen is very kind, but she has trouble hearing. She won't be able to hear you well.'
His wife replied, 'I'll speak loudly so she can hear me.'
The next morning, Andare and his wife went to the palace. When they arrived at the Queen's chamber, the Queen smiled at Andare's wife and greeted her very loudly. Andare's wife, thinking the Queen couldn't hear, greeted her back just as loudly. They both started talking so loudly that everyone around them had to cover their ears because the noise was too much.
The noise was so loud that it caught the attention of the King, who came to see what was happening. He asked the Queen why they were shouting and said there was no need to yell because no one there had trouble hearing.
The Queen replied, 'But Andare's wife can't hear well.'
A shocked and angry Andare’s wife said, 'I can hear just fine! Who told you I couldn't?'
The Queen answered, 'Andare told me.'
Then Andare’s wife asked the Queen, 'Do you have trouble hearing?' The Queen, looking surprised, said, 'No, who told you that?'
Andare’s wife replied, 'Andare told me.'
It soon became clear to everyone that Andare had tricked both the Queen and his wife. Everyone, including the King and Queen, burst into laughter at Andare’s clever trick. Andare smiled, knowing he had brought joy and laughter to everyone once again.
